Information Handbook

Introduction

In 1973, the Belgian Guild, as part of SC4, undertook the compilation of the Information Handbook. A first edition was accepted by the 1974 Tel Aviv Conference.

Discussion

At page 4512 of the IFATCA Manual, para 1.3.1. describes the contents of the Information Handbook as follows:

Chapter 1: General Information

Chapter 2: Working Conditions

Chapter 3: Remuneration

Chapter 4: Retirement

Chapter 5: Social Security

Chapter 6: Recruitment and Training

Chapter 7: Promotion

Chapter 8: Medical Aspects

Chapter 9: Methods of Determining Conditions of Operation and Service

Chapter 10: Legal Aspects

Chapter 11: Technical Aspects

Since the new Questionnaire, the information has been reorganised with additional information. A new division into chapters has been arranged as follows:

Chapter 1: General Information

1.1: Information on the Association

1.2: Affiliation with Trade Unions

1.3: Your Employer

Chapter 2: Working Conditions

2.1: Work and Rest Scheme

2.2: Overtime

2.3: Vacation Scheme

Chapter 3: Career

3.1: Recruitment

3.2: Training

3.3: Remuneration

3.4: Allowances

3.5: Promotion

3.6: Retirement

Chapter 4: Social Security

4.1: Licenses

4.2: Sick Leave

4.3: Pregnancy

4.4: Parental Leave

Chapter 5: Medical Aspects

Chapter 6: Conditions of Employment

Chapter 7: Legal Aspects

Chapter 8: Technical Aspects

Questions rose whether the Contents Page of the Information Handbook should be published in the Manual. Whenever a revision on the contents is considered to be necessary, an amendment to the Manual becomes necessary as well.

SC4 is convinced that publishing the contents of the Information Handbook in the Manual is a good idea. Corporate Members have an IFATCA Manual but are not in the possession of an Information Handbook. At least they have an idea what the Information Handbook is standing for.

Conclusion

Para 1.3.1. at page 4512 of the IFATCA Manual should be amended to reflect the contents of the new layout of the Information Handbook.

Recommendation

Para 1.3.1. at page 4512 of the IFATCA Manual be amended as follows: 1.3.1. The Information Handbook contains the following chapters:

Chapter 1: General Information – containing:

Information on the Association

Affiliation with Trade Unions

Your Employer

Chapter 2: Working Conditions – containing:
