IFATCA Policy is:

Prior to the integration of RPAS, comprehensive Detect and Avoid (DAA) training shall be provided to ATCOs, which shall include:

  1. Definition of DAA;
  2. Collision avoidance function;
  3. Phraseology; and
  4. Pilot and controller actions and responsibilities.

Prior to the integration of RPAS, comprehensive C2 Link training shall be provided to ATCOs, which shall include:

  1. Technical description, including
    1. System functionality;
    2. C2 Link states;
    3. Use of the C2 Link for ATC communications; and
    4. Latency considerations;
  2. Contingency procedures; and
  3. Pilot and controller actions and responsibilities.
